Dr. Silvia Formenti

Is Chair of Radiation Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) and Radiation Oncologist in Chief at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital. She trained as medical and radiation oncologist and her initial research focused on combining chemotherapy and radiotherapy in locally advanced breast cancer. This work evolved to study the systemic effects of radiotherapy, particularly on the immune system. At WCM she has built a program of laboratory and translational clinical research in RT and Immunotherapy. She currently leads nine investigator initiated clinical trials that translate preclinical findings to the clinic. Dr. Formenti will contribute to this ROBIN her oncological, immunological and radiobiological expertise and she is the Contact MPI and be responsible for the overall scientific and administrative coordination of the grant, in collaboration with the other two MPIs, Drs. Weichselbaum and Deasy.
