Dr. Alessio Pigazzi

s a Chief of Colorectal Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine. He has extensive experience in rectal cancer. He will coordinate all surgical efforts across the network, by leading a Zoom call with main study surgeons at each of the participating institutions to assure harmonization of procedures and study visits, from a surgical point of view. For this study he will work closely with Laura Santambrogio and Encouse Golden in defining irradiated versus nonirradiated lymph nodes at imaging, before surgery and perform excision of biopsy of both at the time of surgical intervention.
